2019 Brews from the Sun Competitor

The Alchemist

Our story

We have 2 production breweries in Central Vermont. At our Waterbury location, All Earth Renewables worked with us to create a partnership with Dartt Hill Farm where our leased solar panels thrive (90kw). In addition to this off site solar production, we have additional roof panels (60KW from Suncommon) on our storage shed roof in Waterbury. Collectively, these 2 systems produce MORE than 100% of our electrical needs at our Waterbury brewery. The excess credits go back onto the grid and we donate them to the local senior center to help offsite their monthly utility bills.

At our Stowe brewery, in 2018 we completed the first, and largest solar installation of its kind in the state of Vermont. We worked with Suncommon to install this 145KW+ solar canopy array in our parking lot. This will generate about 50% of our electrical needs in 2019. In 2020 we plan to find a farm partner so that we can net meter our remaining electrical needs.

WATERBURY BREWERY = 100+% electrical needs are solar generated
STOWE BREWERY = ~ 50% of electrical needs are solar generated
