Bear Republic

Our story

Here at Bear Republic sustainability is one of our driving forces. We take huge pride in being able to provide an Eco friendly environment to not only our friends and staff but local residents as well. We also take huge pride in the water conservation process. A typical brewery will use 7 gallons of water to make 1 gallon of beer. We have worked diligently to achieve a 3.5 to 1 water usage ratio to beer produced in our drought stressed region. After extensive pilot testing on site, we have installed the world’s first bioelectrically enhanced wastewater pretreatment plant. This system creates high quality methane and provides 25% of our hot water heating and close to 50% of our electrical needs, the system will also help us reuse up to 25% of the water for cleaning and wash down. In addition to the energy captured and created by the (EcoVolt) wastewater treatment, we teamed up with North State Solar and installed the first American Pride solar array. Combined with our Rohnert Park brewpub, our solar system size is 150 kW.
